Preface
The suspension railway is worldwide unique, it is technically and also from the driving feeling a
special means of transportation. To have such a specific feature in immediate nearness,
the depth-going out discussion with this subject was worth for me.
In the development stage of the suspension railway the planning of such a building was
ventured very much and very advanced. Today one would say: innovatively. In
this sense this advanced setting oriented to technology is continued by
the present rebuilding works.
Earlier the height, and the nice, pendulous driving feeling has fascinated me in
the suspension railway, rattling the wheels and swing in the railway stations and the
excitement by the air to go. Today especially the technology and her
constant advancement interests me. Now on the new rails the driving is really nearly
one floating and the suspension railway earns her name now the more.
During the work on the subject my enthusiasm still grew. Especially the
visits with the public utilities and the car hall in Vohwinkel were very exciting. But also
the employment of books and videos on this subject, in particular to
the engineering aspects of the planning time and the constant engineering improvement, have tied up me.
